A: There is a trace amount of iodine in SEANOL™. The SEANOL™ (seaweed polyphenol) contained in Fibronol (and FibroBoost) was tested at 31 parts per million of iodine, well below the acceptance limit of 80 ppm. In one Fibronol capsule there is approximately 6.0 millionths of a gram of iodine (12 millionths of a gram in a FibroBoost capsule). Whether that causes an allergic reaction is probably an individual sensitivity issue. If someone is very sensitive, we advise that they not take our product. If the allergies are not that severe and not life-threatening even when eating shellfish, we recommend that they consult with their physician about taking the product and start at lower than recommended doses to determine their sensitivity to the product. |
